Colour and Style are two concepts that not only sum up Tricia Guild, but also her fabulous design aesthetic. As the Founder & Creative Director of Designers Guild, an international home and lifestyle company founded by Tricia in 1970, her eye for pattern and colour is vividly reflected throughout the Kings Road showroom. Tricia has established herself as one of the interior world's leading names, being appointed an OBE in 2008 for services to interior design.
If you weren't already mad about colourful interiors, after walking into Designers Guild you'll be filled with so much inspiration you'll never live in four white walls again. Fabrics, wallpaper, furniture, paint...you name it, they've got it. With a plethora of history spanning six decades, Designers Guild has become an institution where creativity and innovation come hand in hand without a compromise to quality.
What do you love most about your job?
Well work never really feels like work because I just love what I do – every aspect of it is rewarding but I particularly love being in the design studio as the collections take shape and I also love the photography shoots when the collections are finished and it’s the first time that we put them together in real life spaces.
Where's your favourite hangout?
I love being at home actually or at our stores and of course all the museums, galleries and restaurants that we love too that are on the verge of opening again – fingers crossed.
What's top of your playlist right now?
I love a mix of music – from opera to jazz but at the moment I’m listening to Nina Simone and K D Lang and Carla Bruni’s latest album.
What's your most loved piece in your wardrobe?
Hard to choose one piece but my collection of vintage Romeo Gigli or perhaps my white Toogood jacket from Mouki Mou.
How many pairs of shoes do you own?
Ahem…Quite a few…I’m a bit of a shoe addict…!
What do your Rogues say about you?
My Rogues say that I appreciate style and divine details…oh and quality too.
