Laetitia Rouget

Laetitia Rouget is a French designer living in East London. She moved here ten years ago to study graphic design and illustration at Central Saint Martins and it's there she fell in love with London and its different approach to art. Her career began as a fashion designer but her work soon evolved into playing with different mediums such as print, textile, paint and ceramics. Favoured by tastemakers such as Vogue, her art studio is named after her nickname for her husband, Shoopy Studio. Laetitia's work is all about celebrating women and the female form as well as sustainability, with all of her interior pieces focusing around recycling materials and fabrics she already owns.

What do you love most about your job?

What I love most about my job is the freedom and creativity that I have everyday. I think it's very rewarding to work for yourself, especially when you are passionate about it because it doesn't feel like you're working. That's the beauty of my job.

Where's your favourite hangout?

I love to spend time with my family in Hossegor, next to Biarittz in the south of France. The Spanish boarder is only half an hour away and I absolutely love the beautiful and wild beach there.

What's top of your playlist right now?

Florence and the Machine.

What's your most loved piece in your wardrobe?

My favourite pieces are mainly vintage. I have a beautiful jacket from Valentino with two embroidered elephant pockets, a large red silk doudoune from Yves-Saint-Laurent and a beautiful black dress my mum bought in the 90s from Barbara Bui.

How many pairs of shoes do you own?

I probably own 15 pairs but I only wear the same everyday because I like to be comfortable, however I am terrible at throwing out things so end up keeping everything.

What do your Rogues say about you?

That I am practical, fun and elegant.
