What do you love most about your job?
Being a stylist is like playing dress up so it’s a dream extension of all my childhood dreams - and I get paid for it! The thing that drives me is creating narratives through the shoots I style. Watching the model inhabit a character that I’ve been dreaming up and telling a story through the medium of clothes is the most satisfying element of my job.
Where's your favourite hangout?
In our house there is a space we call the nook - a cosy, comfy panelled seating area off the kitchen. I love cosying up there with a cup of tea, perhaps to hear my daughter read, catching up on a pile of magazines or having friends round for cake. It’s also my preferred spot for a nap if I ever get the chance!
What's top of your playlist right now?
Real Truth by J-E-T-S. In my car, in the kitchen, definitely on the dancefloor.
What's your most loved piece in your wardrobe?
Right now, I think it would be a grey cashmere crew neck jumper from Land’s End which succumbed to moths this summer. But the cashmere is such good quality and so thick I didn’t want to chuck it so I mended it, sewing up all the holes. It was a labour of love and every time I’ve worn it I’m reminded how much we need to connect with our possessions and treasure them.
How many pairs of shoes do you own?
