Michelle Kennedy’s infectious love of Christmas is exactly the festive treat we needed right now. Not only is she the founder of Peanut, a social network app for women throughout all stages of motherhood which has garnered a huge following, but she's also a lover of a powerhouse suit.
If you're a mum or mum-to-be, listen up. Peanut provides a community where new mothers, expectant mothers, and those who are looking to conceive can ask questions and find support from those who are at a similar stage of life. We can all struggle with feeling disconnected, but Peanut works to connect and empower women all over the world, reducing feelings of isolation and making the journey of motherhood something that they can embark on surrounded by like-minded mothers. Something which is even more relevant during the pandemic.
What do you love most about your job?
Building something that positively impacts women's lives. It's hard, it's unrelenting and exhausting. And then one woman says her life was positively impacted by Peanut and every one of those feelings is forgotten and replaced with a new drive to do more.
Where's your favourite hangout?
My house? I'm a real home bird! OR, when we're allowed, the new Tracey Emin / Edvard Munch exhibition at the RA.
What's top of your playlist right now?
I love 'Wait a Minute' by Willow (closet Tik Tok fan).
What's your most loved piece in your wardrobe?
A velvet long green dress by The Vampire's Wife. I feel she understands femininity and the female form so well, and this dress is everything but reveals nothing. I wear it endlessly.
How many pairs of shoes do you own?
Can I plead the 5th on this.
What do your Rogues say about you?
I love the fluff detail of the brogues. I think it's a nod to playful femininity, but I love the structure of the shoe. And the Ziggy boots are timeless; I'd wear them with anything long dress, shorts, jeans. Perfect off duty chic.
