Lucy Barlow, set up her Holland Park Interior Design company in 2013 with her brother, Max, the studio’s in-house lighting designer. They quickly gained a reputation for creating spaces that are both youthful, exuberant and extremely covetable. With an academic grounding in fashion and interiors, Lucy playfully reinvents the traditional English interior for a young and dynamic clientele. A girl after our own heart, she certainly isn't afraid to play with print, pattern and colour.
What do you love most about your job?
Forming close working relationships with our clients and understanding what their dream home should look look like and how exactly they want it to work. When we nail that it is so rewarding to see how happy a beautifully designed home can make people and how much it can enrich their lives. After all, as the corny saying goes 'home really is where the heart is' and it's a real honour to be a part of that journey, plus we so ofter become friends with our clients which is such a joy.
Where's your favourite hangout?
Our family beach house in North Wales - it's pink with bright blue crittall windows and stuck in a wonderful kitsch mid century time warp.
What's top of your playlist right now?
Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever's new album; Sideways to new Italy.
What's your most loved piece in your wardrobe?
A toss up between the most perfect vintage leather jacket I found in Rome with my husband AND my leopard Gianvitto Rossi wedding shoes that my incredibly generous Maid of Honour bought me. In fact, now I come to think of it, I can't believe I've never worn those two items at the same time!
How many pairs of shoes do you own?
I've never counted but I'm going to make a conservative guess at around 50...
What do your Rogues say about you?
That I have a split personality work wardrobe. When I'm with clients I need to look really presentable so my Black Raffia Mules are so comfortable and chic for this but 5 minutes later I'll be running across town to a building site and so a cute pair of trainers are a must. I've got a childish obsession with both pink and hearts, so my Pink Lovebug trainers couldn't be more perfect.
