Daisy Knatchbull is founder of The Deck, a made-to-measure tailoring house exclusively for Women. Her career in design developed organically after working in various sectors of the fashion industry, including publishing and styling. Nevertheless, it was during her time at Huntsman & Sons, working closely with the crème-de-la-crème of Savile Row tailors that she felt isolated in a male-dominated space. She was the first woman to wear a top hat and tails to the races and now Daisy is on a mission to change the landscape of tailoring. For good.
What do you love most about your job?
The freedom and excitement of being so passionate about something and being able to actualise it! And of course helping so many women who for years have been unable to find what they have been looking for, until now. Nothing quite beats the moment a woman sees herself in a suit that is made for her for the first time. You can quite literally see her stand taller and more confidently. It's the best feeling I could ask for!
Where's your favourite hangout?
I am slightly food obsessed so usually a fun, new, delicious restaurant with some novelty aspect.
What's top of your playlist right now?
I am forever obsessed by Coldplay, so their new album probably. I love them because the same song can make you both laugh and cry and it is the perfect background music in our atelier.
What's your most loved piece in your wardrobe?
I have to say my suits. It's the best feeling knowing I can get out of bed and have a jacket, waistcoat and trousers that fit me like a glove. From there I can mix and match, as either suit or separates for a more smart of casual look.
How many pairs of shoes do you own?
I have a trainer addiction, so quite literally my wardrobe is filled with different colours and styles of trainers that I pair with my suits. I am slightly obsessing over my new Lovebug Rogues!
What do your Rogues say about you?
I love their statement nature. I think shoes often say the most about a person and I like that they show my silly and playful side.
